Like its smaller siblings, the A-Class, CLA and GLA, the future Mercedes GLB 7-seater SUV will also receive a Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 AMG version. First spy pics.
Mercedes is preparing yet another SUV in its range already well stocked with vehicles of this kind. Between the GLA and the GLC, the future GLB will position itself as a premium competitor of seven-seater compact crossovers like the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
This GLB will also get the Mercedes-AMG special treatment, as the other models in the range, if we believe these new images reported by the spy photographers from Autoweek.
These show a prototype of the future GLB, in a sporty configuration. The future Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 is likely to use the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo and all-wheel drive of the recent Mercedes-AMG A 35 and it will develop just over 300 horsepower. While the Mercedes-AMG A 35 sprints in 4.7 seconds to 100 km / h, the GLB 35 will probably take a few tenths longer to reach the same speed, given its higher weight.
Once on the market, the Mercedes-AMG A 35 will face competitors like the Audi SQ2 and Cupra Ateca. It remains to be seen if the GLB will also be entitled to receive a more extreme and potent A 45 AMG version too. The GLB will make its appearance in the second half of this year at the latest.
