smart fortwo and forfour get the Brabus treatment. A small and light car with a rear mounted engine and rear wheel drive developing in excess of 100 hp? Not bad at all.
As you’ve come to expect from Brabus, this is a complete makeover comprising of exterior modifications, interior re-trimming and a significant performance boost. Let’s take them one by one.
We’ll start with the engine since we’re sure it’s the part you’re most eager to learn about. The two Brabus versions of the smart family will be using the same 0.9 TCe engine as the standard models. Brabus smarts never were quite as fierce as their other models, so 130 hp as the targeted power output should be more than enough.
The first prototypes were already caught out in the open, wearing limited camouflage and roaming around Sweden for cold weather testing. The smart Brabus Forfour and Fortwo will feature larger and more aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as modified suspension that brings the car lower to the ground.
But image is nothing without sound. The smart Brabus duo will pack a new exhaust system with twin tailpipes. There won’t be any V8 rumble coming out of those, but they will surely provide more drama than the regular setup.
