How to sell a 15-year old Mercedes with 100 000 euros? Well, that’s easy job, if the car used to belong to Sir Elton John. The British singer, songwriter and composer is putting his Mercedes S600L up for sale.
The music icon bought the Mercedes-Benz S600L in 2000. He drove it and was chauffeured in it for more than 80 500 km (50 000 miles) and was the only owner of the vehicle that will go under hammer on the 25th of July.
The boss of Silverstone Auctions’ Classic Sale has never been happier: “With only 56,000 miles and one name on the log book – Sir Elton John – this is a collector’s dream. I am excited to be able to auction such a piece of history to its future owner”, says Nick Whale.
A 5.8 liter V12 with a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) helped the “I’m Still Standing” artist always reach the stage on time.
And everyone knows that the music icons love to customize their limousines, so this one does not come short of luxury features that makes the ride more comfortable and… star-like, maybe. The tinted windows kept the flashes of the paparazzi away from the very precious passenger. The car also came with a refrigerator, TV, leather seats that can be heated or cooled. The S600 is in perfect condition.
The 68-year old “Made in England” is now probably hoping to get another “Made in Germany” car. Shall it be a Maybach, Sir? Coming right up!
