Mercedes complements its AMG GT with another body version. The Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster is teased one last time ahead of the Paris motor show (October 1st-16th).

From 2017 the Mercedes-AMG GT supercar will be available as a convertible. The Roadster has already been caught as a prototype, now there’s a also a first teaser video. This shows the Roadster with the roof down. As with the Mercedes SLS Roadster, the AMG GT version is equipped with a soft top that is electrically operated.

Under the body, the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster remains largely the same. The technical changes made to the convertible version relate to the stiffening of the body, as well as safety features such as roll bars and reinforced windscreen frame.

The open version is powered by the same 4.0-liter V8 biturbo as the Mercedes-AMG GT. However, the AMG GT Roadster C could gain a few more horsepower compared to the Mercedes-AMG GT S (510 hp) to overcome the extra weight implied by the more rigid body. Power will sit between the 585 hp of the AMG GT R and the 510 hp of the AMG GT S.
