Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is gone but not forgotten. German tuning specialist Renntech has laid the foundation on what is destined to become the fastest gullwinged Mercedes ever.
Mercedes’ now defunct supercar features a significant engine make-over which takes the power output of its V8 all the way up to 667 HP, 36 HP more than before. Of course, it’s all down to the fact the SLS gets an ECU upgrade plus a host of tech upgrades including longer stainless steel tube headers. Acceleration times fall to sub-3.5 seconds while top speed is tipped at 315 km/h.
Even if the SLS has already been replaced by the younger Mercedes-AMG GT, the prospect of a fast SLS is still very promising. We’ll tell you this much. Renntech is the creation of a team made up of ex AMG engineers, clearly the most qualified technicians you can turn to in case you have a serious itch for power.
With the Stage 1 Renntech power boost already out, there’s only one question left. Is there a Stage 2 as well? Of course there is. The exact figures attributed to it were not yet disclosed, though, but Renntech is sure to have at least 700 HP on tap. Mad, mad, mad!
