At the New York Auto Show in 2016 the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 debuted as a preliminary top model of the GLC series. The Mercedes GLK successor comes with a 367 HP strong three-liter V6. But the actual flagship of the GLC SUV range will be a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 with a V8 engine under its hood.
So, the motorized general purpose weapon of the Affalterbacher will be used: the 4.0-liter biturbo V8. The GLC 63, which will also be available as the GLC 63 AMG Coupé, will be celebrating its world debut in New York, this April.
In the normal version the AMG 63 will come with 476 hp and 650 Nm, while the S version will up the ante to 510 hp and 700 Nm. Both versions come with a new automatic gearbox, the shifting times of which are significantly reduced. In terms of acceleration, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 should also remain well below the 4.9 seconds to 100 km / h of the GLC 43. The top SUV has a top speed which is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
Aggro look for the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63
Compared to the GLC 43 model, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 not only comes with more power and more cylinders. The top model also receives more aggressive front aprons with larger air intakes as well as modified exhaust tailpipes, a stronger braking system, larger light alloy wheels and an improved suspension.
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 is also trimmed in tune with its sporty credentials. On board are a leather sports steering wheel, AMG plaques and entry boards, sports seats, AMG instruments as well as aluminum and carbon trim elements.
