This autumn, the compact model family of Mercedes-Benz was expanded with the B-Class minivan. Today we can report how much the third generation of the MPV will cost.
Despite initial reports, Mercedes-Benz does not say goodbye to the segment of compact MPVs. In fact, there is a whole new generation of the B-Class and Mercedesblog has already tested it last week. FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW to read our full review.
The starting price of the B-Class has been set at € 31.874. For that money you get handed the keys of the 136 hp and 200 Nm strong B 180 powered by the latest 1.33-litre gasoline turbo engine. Switching is done via a seven speed double clutch DCT gearbox as standard. For the more powerful variant of the same engine (163 hp) B 200 with the 7G-DCT automatic transmission, Mercedes-Benz asks € 33.569.
Diesel variants start from € 35.932 for the standard 150 hp and 320 Nm 2.0-liter turbo engine, which is matted exclusively to an eight speed DCT automatic transmission with two clutches. Higher on the power ladder is the B 220 d with 190 hp and 400 Nm. This version equipped with the same exclusive automatic transmission costs at least € 39.264.
All configurations can also be ordered in combination with the Business Package (1,963.50 euro). It includes Active Park Assist with PARKTRONIC, seat heating for driver and front passenger, extended MBUX functions, hard drive navigation and touchpad. A reversing camera (303.45 euros), 360° camera (791.35 euro) or seat climate control incl. ventilation (714.00 euro) are among some of the options that can be selected.
The Business Package can also be combined with the Start Package (1,666 euros), also available at sales launch, which apart from the Mirror Package additionally includes LED High Performance headlamps, the EASY-PACK tailgate, 4-way lumbar support as well as a heated windscreen washer system. The Start Package is available for a limited period only. Additional interesting optional extras are the panoramic sliding sunroof (1,362.55 euros), the foldable trailer hitch (952.00 euros), MULTIBEAM LED headlamps (1,487.50 euro), the suspension with adaptive adjustable damping, incl. direct steering (1,178.10 euros) or the Driving Assistance Package (1,796.90 Euro) which comprises the following systems: Active Distance Control DISTRONIC; route-based speed adjustment; Active Steering Assist; Active Speed Limit Assist; Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function; Evasive Steering Assist; Active Lane Change Assist; Active Emergency Stop Assist; Active Blind Spot Assist; PRE-SAFE® PLUS.
As standard the 2019 Mercedes B-Class has two 7-inch displays for the instrument cluster and media display with touchscreen (as part of the MBUX infotainment system), a multifunction sport steering wheel with touch control buttons on the left and right, a USB interface (Type C), a Bluetooth® connection for telephony and audio sources. Optional, Mercedes offers Basic Navigation package (1,356.60 euros) with extended MBUX functions (including intelligent voice control with “Hey Mercedes”, navigation, pre-installation for Live Traffic Information and touchpad), Display Package (1,465.70 euros) with 10.25-inch instrument cluster, 10.25-inch media display and touchpad, Premium Navigation package (3,016.65 euros) with 10.25-inch instrument cluster, 10.25-inch media display, extended MBUX functions, navigation, pre-installation for Live Traffic Information, pre-installation for digital radio; touchpad and Traffic Sign Assist or the Head-up Display (1,178.10 euros).
At a later stage, Mercedes-Benz will undoubtedly extend the order list with more petrol and diesel versions. For example, the A-Class is also available in A 160, A 180 or A 250 guises.
