Only four days sets us apart from the GLC Coupe concept debut. Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the “near-production-standard study” will be revealed on Monday at the Shanghai motor show.

Mercedes’ rival for the segment-buster BMW X4 aims to reproduce GLE Coupe’s recipe on a smaller scale, showing obvious styling similarities to its bigger brother.

Its more conventional counterpart, the GLC SUV, is also expected to draw its inspiration from the Shanghai bound GLC Coupe concept. The first official sketch reveals a strong resemblance to the pre-production GLC prototypes, spied testing.

The same platform set to underpin the entirely rejuvenated C-Class family will underpin the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, with the engine range also expected to mimic the one featured by its sedan and estate siblings.

Earmarked for the GLC Coupe are four and six cylinder units and a ‘GLC350′ plug-in hybrid version. Essentially the same powertrain which debuted alongside the C-Class’ eco version, it uses a 2-liter turbo with 211 HP matted to a 60 kw electric engine, for an electric range of 30 km.
