In another world, in another dimension, this would be a beast. A big blue one, breathing fire and roaring its fury on the road. The Mercedes-Benz CLA got disguised into a monster by the wide-body kit experts from Fairy Design.

The Japan-based company upheld the reputation of the Japanese tuning companies and created something out of this world. Literally. But let’s give them some credit, since their projects involve Porsche and Maserati works as well.

The four-door coupe now comes with a front lip spoiler and wide bolted flares flanking the sides, covering all four wheel arches, while those in front also feature air intakes. The flares are bolted, Liberty Walk-style. Going backwards, a quite obvious carbon-fiber boot spoiler, an aggressive bumper and a new air diffuser make up the rear to get the extra attention the owner might long for.

The powertrain though stayed intact. The turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder power unit still develops 154 HP and 250 Nm of torque via a 7G-Tronic seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Maybe you can’t tell by the looks, but the car needs 8.5 seconds to go all the way from a standstill to 100 km/h. For some extra speed and power, this wide body kit can be fitted on the CLA 45 AMG as well. The AMG variant brings out 355 HP and 450 Nm and it takes 4.6 seconds to reach the 100 km/h mark. Two wheel options – with black or gold spokes – are available for the compact sedan.

If you’re ready to turn your CLA into a blue beast, you need 960,000 yen (about $9600). That’s just for the standard version. If you want to get your hands on the full package, that goes to 1,200,000 yen (about $12,000).
