The Mercedes-Benz Museum has sold the ninth million admission ticket this past Sunday. The anniversary was celebrated with the presence of the “Gospel in the East” choir from Stuttgart, serenading the visitors of the venue.
The voices of 300 singers rose in the museum in a “flash mob” performance, that resounded through the entire museum at noon. It started with a piano solo and a female vocalist in the Atrium and proceeded with hundreds of voices, to create a hair-raising audio-show. “Gospel in the East” is a multi-generational choir based in Stuttgart, with singers from different countries and of various religions.
The performers were there to mark an important milestone for the museum opened in May 2006. Mrs. Wecke of Stuttgart bough the admission ticket number 9 million. The Museum Director Monja Budke congratulated her and the family that accompanied her and presented all of them with a gift voucher for the museum shop. They were all invited to lunch in the restaurant of the museum.
Last year, 876,109 people visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum, with the Chinese customers representing the highest proportion of international guests, accounting for 60% of visitors in 2017.
The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is open daily, from Tuesday to Sunday, form 9 am to 6 pm. Last admission is at 5 pm.
