Former 2016 Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg walks us around the hot new Mercedes-AMG One, revealing the spec of his very own hybrid hypercar which comes with a Formula 1 engine and four additional electric motors.
That’s right. The Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 driver and champ decided to order a Mercedes-AMG One and this is what he had to say about it: “0 – 100kph in 2.2sec is my best guess! F1 car only 2.5sec! Gonna go like a rocket! Can’t wait… Many of you were asking how it compares…”
The Mercedes-AMG Project One is said to develop in excess of 1,000 hp (more likely 1,100 hp) and reach a top speed of 380 km/h. The internal combustion engine of the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar corresponds one-to-one to the unit from the Formula 1 car: a 1.6-liter V6 turbo gasoline motor that can go as high as 13,500 rpm, combined with four electric motors which get their power from a high-tech KERS system.

“The highly efficient and powerful Formula 1 world champion hybrid powertrain coupled with a full-electric wheel-selective front-wheel drive concept produces a combined system performance of probably more than 1,000 hp (735 kW). The Hypercar is to shine through breathtaking driving dynamics” a Mercedes-AMG engineer confirms.
The first customers are expected to come to enjoy their toys in 2019. The price tops 2.75 million euros before taxes. Only 275 units will be made and they are all sold out.
