Larger display, new infotainment software and the option of a widescreen cockpit. This is how the Mercedes-Benz E-Class communicates with occupants. Its LINGUATRONIC system has been updated to provide a high-end experience on-board.
The LINGUATRONIC voice control system has upped the ante. For the first time, it allows not only the entertainment system, but also the vehicle functions to be vocally controlled. A simple voice command can adjust air conditioning functions, with the driver permanently keeping hands on the steering wheel. It also provides information about the next service due, the current speed limit and the range.
LINGUATRONIC does not need an internet connection to operate. Up to 450 voice commands are available, all being simple, intuitive an natural. Uttering the words “Navigate to …” is enough to launch the navigation to the desired destination. “Take me home” or “take me to work” will guide him there. “Massage me” are the words that trigger the seat massage function.
Already available in eleven languages, the system receives extra eleven starting now.
Mercedes-Benz will also be offering a new version of the Audio 20 system on-board the E-Class, for 1011 euros. It comes with a larger media display (12.3 inches instead of 8.4). The new Mercedes-Benz SD map navigation package is designed for the Audio 20 system (including Audio 20 with 12.3‑inch media display – € 2023 incl. VAT), featuring precise real-time traffic data (“Live Traffic Information”), an innovative free-flow display indicating open stretches of road and optional output on a head-up display.
