Stanger than fiction? Not quite. Peculiar Mercedes Royale has been spied in the flesh on the streets of Los Angeles. Yes, a Mercedes with the radiator grille of a classic S 600, with the headlights of an SLS AMG and the vents of an SLR.
The S 600 Royale is based around a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S 550 as evidenced by its VIN number and the unchanged interior. Beyond this, we can’t really explain the baroque mix between a classic Mercedes radiator grille, the swept back SLS AMG headlights and thin taillights plus side air intakes.
It was originally rumored that the automobile might belong to Henrik Frisker, the famous automobile designer. But later on, the Danish entrepreneur said he had nothing to do with it.
Quite a parts collection trying to lego out what could be a tribute to the iconic Mercedes-Benz 600. It is a bit confusing, indeed.
