The Mercedes E-Class T-Cross is the all-new offroad-oriented version of the recently launched E-Class T-Modell. The new variant should follow in the footsteps of the Audi A6 Allroad.
The raised ground clearance will be the most important modification. The T-model will come with standard pneumatic AIRMATIC suspension. In addition, the All Terrain T-Modell should feature the usual visual tweaks, plastic aprons and underride protection elements.
A must is the standard all-wheel drive, so the future Allroad T-Modell will offer 4Matic in conjunction with various engines. In the standard T-modell, 4Matic is currently available for the 333 hp E 400 and the 401 hp AMG E43.
Otherwise, the Allroad estate will offer the known comfort and tech amenities: touch panels on the steering wheel, which can control the COMAND menu via swipe moves, the rotary push button with the touchpad on the center console and the dual 12,3-inch screen dashboard layout as an option.
On board there will also be the usual plethora of assistance systems which use a stereo camera and radar sensors: The distance-pilot Distronic automatically maintain the correct distance to the vehicle ahead, but also follow the car in front up to speeds of 210 km / h follow, steering automatically when needed. In addition, there is the Active Brake Assist with junction function.
The Mercedes E-Class T-Modell All Terrain will likely come to the market about half a year after the standard estate – in Spring 2017.
