Mercedes E-Class All Terrain expands the E-Class portfolio. After the E-Class sedan and station wagon comes this autumn the all-terrain version of the station wagon – in the style of the Audi A6 allroad. Premiere is set for the Paris Motor Show (October 1 to 16 2016).
The Mercedes E-Class All Terrain should fill the gap between the classic T-Modell wagon and the GLE SUV. At the front, there is a little off-road style makeup in the vein of the GLC, including a grille with two large chrome bars and underride protection. In the side view, fender flares of black plastic catch the eye.
Apart from the additional design elements, the Mercedes E-Class All Terrain will be easy to recognize thanks to its bigger ground clearance. No less than four centimeters should be added with air suspension as standard for rough terrain. Also 4Matic four wheel drive will be standard in the E-Class All Terrain.
The Mercedes E-Class All Terrain will be offered with all the engines of the sedan and station wagon – plug-in hybrid and the new straight-six included. A hot AMG variant is still under discussion. There the voices inside Mercedes who trust the All Terrain will gain considerably more success than the classic station wagon, especially on the U.S. market. Prices for the adventure wagon, available from spring 2017, are likely to be around 1,500 euros higher compared to the classical station wagon.
