Mercedes celebrates the anniversary of the Maybach brand with the Edition 100. The S-Class and the GLS are both available in the special limited edition in markets around the world. German customers will be the first to order.
The luxury carmaker will only build 100 units of each. The Maybach Edition 100 will come with a hand-painted silver and nautical blue exterior. It will get unique wheels with a new grey finish. All anniversary models will sport the Edition 100 badging on the hub caps and rear pillars.
The occupants will benefit from the presence of the design crystal white and silver grey pearl leather. The trim beautifully contrasts with the black wood trim. Illuminated sill plates and, of course, the Edition 100 logo will show up on board.
Maybach Edition 100 as an S-Class and as a GLS
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Edition 100 will be available with the 6.0-liter V12 engine that delivers 630 PS (621 HP) and 1,001 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. These parameters make the luxury sedan run from 0 to 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h).
As for the luxury SUV Mercedes-Maybach GLS, the carmaker has prepared the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 557 PS (549 HP) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft). It takes 4.9 seconds for the 0-62 mph run, prior to maxing out 155 mph (250 km/h).
Maybach partnered up with Robbe & Berking to create silver champagne flutes with special engraving. There is also a fountain pen lacquered in the same blue metallic as the Edition 100 cars, with an 18-carat gold nib, 100 diamonds and a cap tip made of mother-of-pearl.
German customers will be able to order the Maybach Edition 100 models starting the fourth quarter. They will get the delivery of their cars starting the beginning of next year. American customers though will only receive the anniversary S-Class, available in the first half of next year.
