Mercedes plans renewal of the Mercedes C-Class family. The sedan and T-Model will be upgraded around mid 2018 while the coupe and convertible will follow at the end of 2018 according to auto motor und sport informations.

From the E-Class, the C-Class will take over the electronic architecture and thus C-Class will offer an expanded range of assistance systems including the remote parking with the application from a smartphone.

There will be also a lot of modifications under the hood. The future C-Class family will receive the new generation of engines. In the diesel field we will find the new 2 liter diesel (OM654) with 194 HP and the new six inline 3 liter diesel (OM656) with 286 HP.

The V6 from the C 400 will be replace by the new 6 inline 3 liter petrol engine while the current 4.0 liter V8 AMG from the C 63 will remain in the program. AMG C 63 was the first series Mercedes to receive the new 4.0 liter V8 bi-turbo after the engine debut in the AMG GT.
