Mercedes-Benz honors the 1955 Mille Miglia class victory with a special edition Mercedes-Benz SL 417 Mille Miglia, bound for Geneva.
The package takes its name from the number of the factory-prepared Mercedes-Benz 300 SL driven by Fitch and Gesell. The famous racer has finished first in its own respective class.
Apart from the customary styling updates, the 417 Mille Miglia SL gets standard adaptive dampers, with the ABC (Active Body Control) suspension still offered as a separate option.
Design-wise, the special package brings magnetite black metallic paint with red and carbon accents for both the exterior and the interior, red brake calipers, a fixed rear-end spoiler and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels with red surrounds. Three other optional exterior paint schemes are available: night black magna, cashmere white magna matt and diamond white. Inside, 417 Mille Miglia insignias are embroidered in the headrests.
Two engines can be coupled with the 417 Mille Miglia package, the 333 HP biturbo V6 of the SL 400 and 455 HP biturbo V8, in SL 500 guise.
Only 500 examples of the Mercedes SL 417 Mille Miglia will be available. In Germany, the 417 Mille Miglia anniversary package is priced at €14,000 for the SL 400 and €12,800 for the SL 500.
