Mercedes-Benz retained its 8th place in the Best Global Brands 2022 ranking and its market value increased by 10%. Mercedes-Benz is the only European brand in the Top 10 and the highest ranked premium brand in the top 10.
The “Best Global Brands” ranking is carried out annually by the renowned American brand consultancy Interbrand and since 2018 Mercedes has been ranked 8th in this hierarchy.
Mercedes kept its 8th place in 2022 and the brand’s market value increased by 10% to USD 56.103 billion. This proves that Mercedes’ strategy is the right one.
In 2021, Mercedes-Benz spun off its Daimler Truck division and this year refocused its electrification strategy from “Electric First” to “Electric Only” . Mercedes intends to sell only electric cars from 2030 where market conditions allow.
At the same time, the increase in brand value can also be explained by the reorientation towards the luxury segments Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach and G-Class and their electrification.
Mercedes-Benz’s main rivals, BMW and Audi, rank 13th and 46th respectively. Tesla, whose models compete with some Mercedes-Benz electric models, also climbed to 12th place. Porsche is only 53rd with $13.504 billion while Lexus is not in the top 100.
