Mercedes-Benz pushes the eVito forward, an electric van that German clients can already order. The eVito is an electric variant of the Vito, the delivery van within the V-class family, which is equipped with a 41.4 kWh battery pack that is concealed under the floor panels.
A 114 hp and 300 Nm strong electric motor is responsible for the drive. If you manage to get the most out of the power supply, you should be able to reach a distance of about 150 kilometers on one load. The battery pack can be fully charged in about six hours. The top speed is 80 km / h. For those who think this is not enough, Mercedes-Benz offers a driving mode which takes the top speed to 120 km / h.
The eVito is available in two lengths. The electric van is available with a wheelbase of 5.140, although the extra longer version with 5.370 mm between the axles is also on the order list. The maximum payload is set at 1,073 kilos.
Mercedes-Benz says that the eVito is only the beginning. In 2019 an electric Sprinter will also appear on the market. A fully electric variant of the next generation Citan is also mentioned in the future plans.
