It is now or never for the Elvis Presley’s fans to get a unique item that belonged to their idol. A Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC that belonged to the King and one of his last motorcycles go under hammer this month. it is estimated that they are to be sold for approximately $300,000.

The luxury coupe is powered by a 4.5-liter V8, that developed 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque, coupled to a three-speed automatic transmission.

Painted in golden beige, this 450 SLC was – the representatives of Julien’s Auction claim – regularly parked right outside the Graceland estate in Memphis. It is, apparently, the car that the King of rock’n roll used to drive when went incognito.

After Elvis’s premature passing in 1977, at the age of 42, the Benz ended up in the hands of the artist’s physicial, the highly controversial Doctor George C. Nichopoulos, widely known as “Dr. Nick”. The star’s fans accused Nichopoulos of overpresctipting powerful drugs for their idol, turning him into a medication-dependent patient. The doctor lost his license in 1993, after further investigation on Elvis’s demise.

To escape financial trouble, the doctor sold Elvis memorabilia, the Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC included. The coupe has been under this owner’s custody ever since.

The car, together with the 1976 Harley Davidson motorcycle, goes under hammer at the “Icons & Idols: Rock ‘n’ Roll” sale on October 25 and 26. The event is set to take place at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York.

I Rented a house from Dr.Nick in Memphis after Elvis died. One day the glass on the front door broke and the repair guys showed up in this Mercedes with the replacement glass across the seat and their tools in the partially closed truck lol. I wish I’d taken a picture because nobody would believe this except the repair guys and Dr. Nick!
