TOPLESS MERCEDES-AMG GT ROADSTER LAUNCHES IN FIRST HALF OF 2017. Thanks to Autoweek, we now have proof that the AMG GT Roadster is coming.
A supercar like the Mercedes-AMG GT, a coupe which Mercedes likes to pit against the likes of the Jaguar F-Type SVR and Porsche’s 911 is begging for a drop-top variant.
Currently, the already dense AMG GT program includes the standard, S and R versions, but the range is set to expand with the said roadster. A model which would pay homage to the illustrious history Mercedes has in this area.
From the recently revealed 2016/2017 new model calendar we were able to conclude that a Mercedes roadster version of the AMG GT will come to the market in the first half of 2017. Remarkable is the naming which Mercedes has prepared for the model: AMG GT Roadster C. What C stands for is not yet clear.
Under the hood, we naturally expect the 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo from the AMG GT coupe, in the same 475 and 510 hp power guises. Possibly Mercedes could offer the Roadster in a more tamed version of the V8 too.
