Mercedes-Benz pours AMG sauces over almost all of its models, which means that at least a sporty version with the magic letter combination will also grace the recently presented GLB. And in top Mercedes-AMG 45 S version, the Mercedes GLB could claim more than 400 hp.

After hearing news of the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35, it is now the top sporty version 45 which was caught during tests. More sporting, this declination should logically be equipped with the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engine, which develops 387 horsepower under the hood of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 and even 421 horsepower under the hood of the radical version S.

With such power, the 7-seater SUV with a cubic look could take the acceleration exercise from 0 to 100 km / h below the 5-second mark. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and a brand new 4Matic system. It would be surprising, however, to see the “drift” mode available on the compact SUV.

Last week, Mercedes-Benz took the veil off the Mercedes-AMG 45 and 45 S variants of both the A-Class and the CLA. For these two models, Mercedes-Benz already offered Mercedes-AMG 35 variants. The milder versions develop 306 hp from a turbo 2.0-liter engine.

The GLB will also get on the market as the Mercedes-AMG 45 and 35 and one of those versions has now surfaced at the famous Döttinger Höhe gas station near the Nürburgring.

Although a clear GLB can be seen in these photos, it is difficult to see whether it is the milder GLB 35 or the full Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 version. The car is clearly closer to the ground than a regular GLB and the wheels on which the car stands, together with the taped-off bumper work, certainly indicate a sporty version. If this is indeed the Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 variant, the car in the photo is at least about 400 hp strong.

An official unveiling is likely to take place before the end of the year.
