Just like all the other CLA family members, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake gets the mild Mercedes-AMG 35 treatment. This translates to 306 hp and standard all-wheel drive, coupled to a sporty outfit.
For some time now, it has been customary for Mercedes-AMG to send a mild version of a new model onto the road before the “real thing” comes around, in the guise of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45. This is also the case now with the new CLA Shooting Brake.
The new A-Class hatchback; A-Class Limousine; CLA: they were all gradually added to the Mercedes-AMG 35 line-up. The so-called milder brother of the 400 hp plus Mercedes-AMG 45. Now it is time for the AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake to break free.
Just like the aforementioned entry-level AMGs, the latest Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake is fitted with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that is good for 306 hp. The power is distributed to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission with double clutch. For a sprint from a standstill to the 100 km/h mark, the new Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake needs 4.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km / h.
For added sportiness, Mercedes-AMG offers adaptive dampers and the AMG Dynamic Select technology. The braking system has also been improved and offers brake discs with a diameter of 350 mm on the front axle and 330 mm on the rear axle.
The exterior of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake sports station wagon is characterized by an AMG grille with double blades, special bumper design and standard 18-inch double-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear we find round exhaust pipes on each side.
Inside, the Germans have prepared the MBUX infotainment system that will communicate with the occupants via a 10.25 inch diagonal touch screen. The digital instrument cluster will also be available in 10.25-inch format. The MBUX multimedia system and the digital instruments can be represented in three AMG atmospheres: Classic, Sport and Supersport, the latter being developed specifically for performance versions. The car itself and its powertrain can also be set in different driving modes: from “Slippery” to “Sport +”. The center console is supplied as standard in high-gloss black.
The steering wheel of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 Shooting Brake also integrates two tactile areas through which customers can control the on-board instrumentation and infotainment system. Also on the steering wheel is a selector for the running modes (Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport + and Individual).
Just like the price, the market arrival is not yet known. Within a short time we also expect the reveal of the fully-fledged Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4Matic, a version that, incidentally, has not yet been presented for any Mercedes from the current renewed range – but you can see below after an early online configurator leak.
