We reveal the hotly anticipated Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe. First official pictures have leaked ahead of the real car’s debut slated for this year’s Frankfurt motor show.
Fresh after the premiere of its ‘regular’ C-Class Coupe sibling late last week, the top-of-the-range C 63 Coupe is now teasing its gorgeous lines thanks to two photos taken during an exclusive presentation. As expected, the new AMG beast will closely look at its bigger brother, the S 63 AMG Coupe, for styling inspiration.
The pinnacle of AMG’s new C-Class derived line-up, the new AMG top-model will be powered by the M178 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8, derived straight from the AMG GT supercar’s M177 mill, complete with turbochargers mounted up high between the cylinder banks. Mimicking the sedan and estate strategy, Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe will be available in two states of tune, 476 HP in standard-guise and 510 HP for the top-of-the-range C 63 Coupe S.
The rear-wheel drive biased MRA platform will also be shared with other C-Class family members with the Coupe expected to feature a lower center of gravity and unique suspension and electromechanical steering settings.
Also unique to the C 63 Coupe are a mechanical locking differential, offered as standard alongside a quicker, more complex electronic differential, reserved for the top-of-the-line S variant.
We’ll know more this September when the all-new Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe debuts in Frankfurt.
