Major milestone – The 50.000th Freightliner New Cascadia has been delivered

Daimler Trucks has just reached a major milestone. The company has sold 50.000 Freightliner New Cascadia units in the United States. The production of the vehicle started in January 2017.

Since the moment it hit the road, the New Cascadia has been a hit. The 50.000th New Cascadia has just been handed over to a company customer, Cargo Transporters, from Claremont, North Carolina. The freight company currently operates more than 550 Freightliner trucks. The fleet includes over 120 New Cascadia.

The New Cascadia, presented back in 2016, is the most successful truck for heavy transportation on long haul routes in Class 8 (over 15 t zGG) in the North American market. Daimler announced the first customer taking on the joint testing of the fully electric verion of the Freighliner eCascadia. The first electric trucks will serve Penske Truck Leasing and NFI industries.

Daimler Trucks stands as the undisputed market leader with a market share of approximately 40% in the medium-duty and heavy-duty segments, Class 6-8, with its trucks brands Freightliner and Western Star.
