A Mercedes-Benz showroom filled up with tons of toys! This is what the New Haven dealership got after their call for customers to come donate toys for the Toys For Tots Donation Center.
The Heartfelt Holiday Toy Drive event gathered dozens of toys in the New Haven Mercedes-Benz showroom in Connecticut. In exchange for the donated toys, the showroom employees prepared refreshments, snacks and even offered the possibility to win tickets to a UConn Husky women basketball game for Saturday, December 27th. We don’t know who’s going to the basketball game yet, but we know for sure that the guests enjoyed the starters and the non-alcoholic eggnog.
In the attempt of collecting toys for the low-income community, the New Haven dealership asked both customers and non-costumers to bring any unwrapped toy that will end up in the hands of the underprivileged on the Christmas Day. What started out as a childcare center in 1969, with only 20 children to care for, has now developed into a social services agency, serving over 700 children and 150 adults.
“No reservations are necessary, so swing by, because we’d love to see you here!” was the message posted on the Facebook account of the dealership.
A day later, they posted the photos of the toys they had received and said a heartfelt “Thank-you” for the outcome of the Heartfelt Holiday Tody Drive: “We’d like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in Mercedes-Benz of North Haven’s Toy Drive. We’re humbled by the generosity of our clients and friends, and we’re excited to see the Toys For Tots representative try to fit this all in one vehicle!”
Now they only need to worry about the car that will take the toys to their new owners.
