Mercedes-Benz has reached new heights in therms of commercial success, announcing a new sales record and double-digit growth in April.
Unit sales increased by 11.3%, overall, 148,072 customers having picked up their new Mercedes-Benz last month.
Globally, the top-seller model in Mercedes-Benz range has been the C-Class. Sales rose by 53.8% to 32,809 units of the C-Class Saloon and Estate. The S-Class has also reached a new all-time high with with 8,736 units delivered to customers (+6.4%), in April, and more than 34,585 since the beginning of the year. The SUVs of Mercedes-Benz continue to enjoy great popularity. In the first four months of the year, 147,708 SUVs and thus 29.4% more vehicles were handed over to customers than in the same period of the previous year. The G-Class and the GLK achieved new records.
On the old continent, Mercedes has delivered 251,268 vehicles, in the first four months of the year, an increase of 12.0% compared to the same period from 2014. As tradition dictates, the biggest market in Europe is still Germany, which accounted for 83,339 models (+3.6%), followed closely by Great Britain with 50,196 cars (+19.1%). Spain (+33.4%), Portugal (+32.5%), Sweden (+19.7%), and Belgium (+15.7%) have also reported strong double-digit growth in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, USA remained the strongest market in the NAFTA region with 29,188 deliveries registered in April (+12.8%). Overall, sales have increased by 14.6% to 33.668 units, in the NAFTA region. Mercedes-Benz has also managed to beat its main competitors and claim the leadership crown among the premium manufacturers in the USA and Canada (+28.6%) in April.
Mercedes-Benz has also announced sales record for the Asia-Pacific region, no less than 45,034 happy customers choosing a ‘lucky star’ in April (+23.3%). Local production of the GLA has also boosted sales in China to 27,069 units, which translates to a sales increase of 20.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.
