Mercedes-Benz remained the world’s largest premium brand in 2018 and the company’s management has decided to reward employees with a bonus of up to 4,965 euros.
2018 was an excellent year for Mercedes-Benz, the Stuttgart builder being able to remain the world’s leading premium manufacturer. Last year, Mercedes-Benz sold 2.31 million cars, up only 0.9% compared to 2017. The most important market for Mercedes was China, with over 650,000 units.
SUVs continued to represent the most popular segment with about one-third of sales, while the most popular model in the range of the German manufacturer was the C-Class (397,000 units), followed by the E-Class (355,000 copies).
In order to celebrate the new success, Mercedes will offer a bonus to its employees. Almost 130,000 German workers will receive up to € 4,965 in addition to the April salary. The extra bonus is a long-standing yearly tradition. Last year, the bonus earned by Mercedes-Benz employees was valued at € 5,700.
