Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations has worked for the first time its magic on a Range Rover, with the super luxury SVAutobiography as a result. With its 550 HP arsenal, it easily claims the title of the most powerful Range Rover ever. Should the GL be worried?
The upgraded 5.0-liter supercharged V8 is a welcome addition to the product portofolio of Jaguar and Land Rover. It has already been present under the bonnet of the Range Rover, but not in this 550 hp guise. With 680 Nm, the SVAutobiography also ups the ante with an additional 55 Nm than its weaker counterpart. The SVAutobiography equipment level is also set to accompany the other V6 and V8 powered models down the range, as well as the SDV6 Hybrid.
Besides the significant increase in power, the new Range Rover SVAutobiography is more the sum of its luxury amenities. In this regard, it gets two-tone paint exterior and super luxury interior. Rear passengers are pampered with extendable, electrically adjustable individual seats or electrically folding tables and can make sip a cold drink straight from the on-board refrigerator.
Range Rover has also given thorough consideration to the practical aspect. The aluminum and wood veneer finished floor can extend electrically to facilitate loading. Even more, the SVAutobiography features ‘event seating’: two folding and heated chairs – including foot braces.
The Range Rover SVAutobiography will be shown as a 2016 model year next Wednesday, at the NYIAS motorshow in New York. Delivers are set to start this summer.
