At the 2018 Mondial de l’Automobile from Paris, Smart showed the Forease Concept. Now, the Smart Forease study is coming to Geneva, too, but with a twist and a new name: Forease +.
Last year Smart showed in Paris the Forease Concept, a study model based on the ForTwo Cabrio that remotely reminded of the crazy Crossblade from 2001. Smart also brings the Forease Concept to the Geneva Motor Show, but now the car comes with a roof and modified wheels. The body of the study is painted in silver, while the roof is orange. The handles of the protoype are flush with the doors.
The sketch of the adapted Forease, which is called Forease + for the Geneva motor show, comes from the Instagram page of Smart designer Mohammad Hossin Aminiyekta.
The remarkable low windscreen of the Forease is retained and the electric powertrain too. Gradually, Smart will phase out all of its versions with a regular combustion engine.
Recently it was announced that from 2020 Smart will only offer electric models in Europe, while Smart has only been selling electrical versions in the United States since last year. The EQ versions all have a 82 hp electric motor that is connected to a 17.6 kWh battery pack. The range is roughly 155-160 kilometers.
