Like it or not, our generation is going to witness some of the greatest changes in the way we live our lives. Sure, those born in the early 1900’s saw man reaching the moon, the computer being invented and stuff like that, but I’m sure we too are going to have a ball in the following years.
If things appear not to be moving as fast as we’d like them too, that’s just because we’re being impatient. In reality, not a day goes by without some major breakthrough in the most various fields of technology, it’s just impossible for one person to acknowledge them all.
All this being said, it’s hard to place the action shown in this animated presentation clip for the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion Concept in a certain time. Some of the things shown there could still be decades away from us, while autonomous cars are only being held back by legal matters, really.
The future Mercedes-Benz imagined looks to be very well planned, which should come as little surprise Mercedes-Benz being a German company and all… Things look perfectly programmed and the entire world appears to be perfectly choreographed.
This is the right setting for the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion Concept, a car that feels more like your personal assistant, than just a means to get from point A to point B. Its pick ups are perfectly synchronized, it knows where to take you, it knows your daily agenda and is doing all it can to make your day a better one.
More than that, it can use laser projectors to do the same for those around it, either by projecting a zebra for the pedestrians to know it’s safe to cross, or by letting others know it’s going to park by projecting the “P” sign that spells “parking” in every language. And that’s just what we can see in this video.
The fact that car is fully autonomous means it can drop you off right where you need to be and then go park by itself, saving you both time and energy.
We’re very firmly set in our present times so it’s pretty hard to tell if that’s a future we’d want to live in, but one thing is for certain: being able to drink and not take a taxi afterwards? That sounds awesome.
