Mercedes will present the new car for the Formula 1 2020 season on February 14 on the Silverstone circuit, as part of an event that will also include the first test for advertising purposes.
Mercedes became the sixth team on Friday to confirm plans for the launch of the new Formula One 2020 car. The German team will hold a private event on the Silverstone circuit on February 14, and access by the public and the press will not be allowed.
In addition to the actual presentation of the event, Mercedes will take the opportunity to perform a test for advertising purposes, as it has done in previous seasons. The regulation of Formula 1 allows any team to carry out two days of tests for advertising purposes other than race weekends or official tests, provided that the distance traveled does not exceed 100 kilometers.
Even if the press does not have access to the event, Mercedes announces that it will publish a wide range of images, videos and official documents with the new car on the day of launch.
At least based on announcements so far, Ferrari will be the first team to present the new car for the Formula 1 2020 season, as the event is scheduled on February 11th. Renault will follow on February 12, while McLaren is scheduled to launch their car on February 13. On February 14, the same day with Mercedes, will present its new car Alpha Tauri.
The first test session of the new season will take place on February 19-21 on the Barcelona circuit.
