Mercedes-Benz expanded the range of the recently renewed GLC mid-size SUV with the Mercedes-AMG 43 4Matic flavors of the GLC and the GLC Coupé. We bring you the first official video.
Earlier this year, both the GLC and the GLC Coupé underwent a facelift and for a moment it seemed that only the 63 versions were returning. Until recently, those were the only Mercedes-AMG variants shown in the new pair. In contrast to what is the case with the new models from the A-Class and CLA families, the new mild Mercedes-AMG 43 variants are only shown at the GLCs after the launch of the ‘hardcore’ AMG editions.

With the facelift that Mercedes-Benz introduced at the beginning of last year in the C-Class, the 367 hp 3.0 V6 of the ‘mild’ Mercedes-AMG 43 model was exchanged for a 390 hp variant of the same six-cylinder engine. Now also the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic and GLC Coupé 43 4Matic get the same 390 hp and 520 Nm strong turbo.
The six-cylinder is coupled to an AMG Speedshift transmission with nine gears. ‘4Matic’ in the name of the newcomers gives away the number of wheels that all that power must bring on the road. Both GLC variants sprint in 4.9 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h. The top speed in both versions is 250 km / h. With an average consumption of 10.2-10.5 l / 100 km to 0.1 l / 100 km, the GLC Coupé does use its fuel more efficiently.
Facelift
Just like the non-AMG versions of the GLCs, these new 43 variants also benefit from a series of optical changes. The nose of the pair is new, complete with smaller LED headlights, a new grille with horizontal bars and adapted bumpers. The light signature has been adjusted in the rear lights, rectangular shapes have now been applied. The dual exhaust tailpipes from the previous GLC 43, consisting of two parts, make way for two round exhaust tailpipes placed on either side of the rear bumper. The two Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic versions are also introduced to the MBUX infotainment system. Things like 19-inch alloy, a beautifully finished interior with sports seats, a sports steering wheel and artificial leather are all part of the AMG party.
