Mercedes-Benz has expanded the CLA range with the mighty new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Shooting Brake and the even more wild CLA 45 S version and now we have the first official videos to show you.

Just like the A-Class and the CLA, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 version of the CLA Shooting Brake is available for the first time in two versions. Mercedes-AMG will soon be delivering a 387 hp and 480 Nm variant of the pratical CLA, a car that sprints in 4.1 to a speed of 100 km / h.

If that is not enough, go for the even more violent CLA 45 S. This second and most powerful member from the AMG 45 family extracts 421 hp and 500 Nm from the turbo 2.0-liter engine, which is also found in the non-S version. With this heart the CLA sprints in 4 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h. In both cases, shifting is possible via an AMG Speedshift 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that distributes power via the 4Matic drive between the front and rear axles.

Just like the Mercedes-AMG 45 S versions of the A-Class and the regular CLA, Mercedes-Benz delivers the CLA 45 S Shooting Brake with the Drift mode. In this setting the power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels and this makes it possible for the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Shooting Brake to actually drift. This system is optional for the CLA 45 Shooting Brake and standard for the CLA 45 S Shooting Brake.

Mercedes-AMG has strengthened the chassis of the CLA Shooting Brake, among other things by screwing an aluminum plate under the engine. Additional reinforcement plates and diagonally placed bars on both front and rear should further increase the rigidity. The exhaust system is equipped with valves with which the degree of noise can be adjusted.

On the outside, the new AMG versions are immediately recognizable by the exuberant spoiler work and the more powerful grille, a unit with twelve vertical slats. Also striking are the flared wheel arches and the bonnet with so-called power domes.
