Auto motor und sport magazine published the first pictures with the future Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 which will be built on E-Class platform and will use the new 4 liter bi-turbo V8 engine.
The new Mercedes GLE code name W167 will be released next year followed by the AMG version in 2019.
Auto motor und sport published the first spy pictures with the future top class AMG version which will be offered also in two top versions like the current generation.
Both Mercedes-AMG Gle 63 will use the new 4 liter V8 bi-turbo engine which will replace the current 5.5 liter V8 engine.
In the “normal” version GLE 63 the engine will deliver 571 HP while the top version GLE 63 S will have 612 HP.
There will be also a baby GLE 43 with 3 liter biturbo V6 and 401 HP.
The new GLE 63 will be built on the MRA platform used for the E-Class which help to reduce the weight with some kilograms but is questionable if the kerbweight will go under 2 tones.
The all-wheel drive will also be derived from the E-Class. The 4-Matic + distributes the motive power variably between the axles thanks to an electromechanical clutch. Also the nine gears automatic transmission is reworked and gets shortened shifting times. In terms of chassis, an air suspension with three settings will be available. The design will bring a new front grill, new side sills and larger tires.
Inside, the dashboard will feature the new layout from the E and S-Class with two big 12.3 inch displays under one glass. The left one is used as an instrument cluster and the right one will serve the multimedia system.
Auto motor und sport estimates that the GLE 63 will cost around 115,000 euro, while the S version will reach to 125,000 euro.
