Mercedes will launch two AMG hot versions of the GLC: Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 and GLC 43.
The former GLK did not have an AMG version but the new generation will have two very sporty members.
These are the very first shots of the hottest version Mercedes GLC, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63. Automedia photographer at Mercedes’ test facility at the German Nürburgring reports about “the roaring sound of a huge V8”. The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 will sport the brand-new 4.0‑litre V8 bi-turbo lifted straight from its Mercedes-AMG C 63. After our informations, the 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo will develop 476 HP in GLC 63 and not 510 HP like in C 63.
Mercedes has no reason to offer more power because the GLC 63 will be anyway the most powerful middle size SUV from the market. Porsche Macan Turbo delivers “only” 400 HP, while the current generations of BMW X3 and Audi Q5 does not offer comparable sporty petrol versions.
On the other side, after the transformation of the AMG Sport Line models in pure AMG models, Mercedes will offer a Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 with 367 HP which will play in a more competitive environment with Porsche Macan GTS (360 HP), BMW X3 xDrive 35i (306 HP) and Audi S Q5 TDI (340 HP).
