You can’t get your hands on the Mercedes-AMG Vision GT Concept, that Mercedes revealed back in 2013. That was just a design study that Mercedes built to promote the Gran Turismo video game and it subsequently ended up in the Justice League at Batman’s daily in 2017.
Ten years have passed since Mercedes owed the crowd with a spectacular model that was never planning to build as a production model. Now a Florida-based company comes up with the next best thing to the car that Mercedes never sold. It is the Erebos X supercar is the creation of the Florida-based shop Parker Brothers Concepts.
It brings a sleek and aggressive design, inspired by the gran turismo with the three-pointed star logo on the hood. A massive radiator grille covers the entire front fascia, while elongated headlights extending toward the bulky fenders flank it. There are gullwing doors springing upwards. The greenhouse is limited to the necessary, so you can’t expect great visibility from behind the yoke steering wheel.
A massive rear spoiler comes out at the rear end, where there are also sleek LED taillights.
The cabin is covered in lime green, which matches the neon shade of the aerodynamics-optimized wheels.
It sports a twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of delivering 835 horsepower (847 PS). That is a lot of power for a car tipping the scale at only 2,718 lbs (1,233 kilograms). The Florida-based shop claims it can run from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).
Let us refresh your memory. Back in 2013, Mercedes accounted the AMG Vision GT concept car with a 5.5-liter V8 with 580 horsepower (585 PS). That means it would only eat the dust of the Erebos X.
Even though still anonymous, the company is planning to sell its new supercar for $1.5 million. Only 10 such cars will see the light of day.
