Setra is exhibiting an exclusively equipped S 417 TC touring coach at the United Motorcoach Association (UMA) Expo in New Orleans and yes, il looks like a luxury spaceship. Because, you know, Daimler.
After the first photos revealing the Brabus Viano iBusiness van’s interior, we get to see this: the ultimate luxury coach, courtesy of Daimler and its Setra sub-brand.
The S 417 TC is the US version of the European Setra TopClass, is produced in Neu-Ulm, features a three-axle configuration and can accommodate 40 passengers in its Setra Voyage Ambassador seats.
Wait, there’s more. Six additional passengers can enjoy the services of the premium club lounge built inside the touring coach. Setra also offers a middle entrance and glass roof, plus LED interior lighting and a reversing camera.
Power comes from a Mercedes-Benz OM 471 LA engine delivering 457 hp (336 kW), compliant with US emissions standard EPA 10 regulations.
The S 417 TC has been on the roads of North America, Canada and Mexico for 12 years. A total of over 1100 units of this luxury touring coach had been sold in these markets by the end of 2014. In 2010 the brand from the Daimler AG stable launched the face-lifted version with an even sharper focus on safety.
