The prospect of a hot new Mercedes-AMG B-Class super MPV is an enticing, but weird one – to say the least. But what would such a beast look like? Digital artist XTomi is kind enough to answer, giving us a world-first glimpse at the top-of-the-line fully-fledged sports B-Class variant.
As expected, the Mercedes-AMG B-Class rendering is the result of grafting the now ubiquitous Mercedes-AMG C 63, A 35 etc. cues such as the wide gaping front air intake, aprons, black alloys and the mesh-grille on the regular body. This is exactly what Mercedes-AMG specialists could have in mind for their own official version anyway so, after all, XTomi’s take might be closer than you think to the real deal (if that is ever going to happen).
Specifications remain speculative, but we can easily think about what might be hiding under the ball dress. Although not officially confirmed, the Mercedes-AMG B 35 will sport the brand new 2,0 litre L4 bi-turbo with 300 HP lifted straight from its A 35 AMG smaller brother.
Built around the current A-Class’ MFA2 modular architecture, the B-Class gets longer wheelbase and wider tracks. The bigger wheelbase means the B-Class will be able to offer more generous interior accommodation for its five passengers, better matching its rivals in therms of space.
The interior is carried over largely unchanged from the new A-Class, meaning an appealing mix of glossy surfaces and the dual-screen (7 to 10,25-inch) sporting MBUX infotainment system.
