Bulletproof Mercedes-AMG S 63 Is a Black-on-Black Fortress

Road Show International has just built a fortress on wheels. It is the bulletproof Mercedes-AMG S 63. It is, in fact, a W222-based armored limousine that you need to take a good look at in order to realize there is something going on.

The Atlanta, Georgia-based company calls it the Mercedes-AMG S 63 RS Edition. The name does not make much sense, though. “Fortress” would have probably been more appropriate. The car keeps its 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine, but now benefits from the presence of 612 PS (603 HP), instead of the standard 585 PS (577 HP). The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) run is standardly a 3.5-second deal, before the sedan flashes its way on to 300 km/h (186 mph).

But not with the extra weight that the Level 6 anti-bullet protection brings along. According to the Instagram post of Road Show International, the armor slows the Mercedes-AMG S 63 down to 3.7 seconds, which is not bad either. The speedometer needle though, now stops at 257 km/h (160 mph).

The car is a black and chrome business inside out. Take a good look at it and you will see that you can’t actually see through the thick bulletproof windows. Visibility from inside out is impacted as well.

The car involved in the process is a 2018 model with 6,923 miles (little over 11,140 kilometers) on the odometer. Whoever is interested needs to call Road Show International and inquire about the price. It includes a free CarFax report, too. There’s the VIN in the sales ad, if you’re curious about that.

But if you’d rather go with the W223 generation, have we got good news for you! INKAS revealed their armored Mercedes-Benz S-Class back in March. The bulletproof sedan is available worldwide. So it’s your call!
