For those who think AMGs are not extreme enough, there is always the Brabus treatment. The Mercedes tuner has just presented the Brabus Rocket 900 Cabrio, claimed to be the fastest cabriolet in the world.
Once Brabus applies the term Rocket to one of his creations, you know that you’re having a bizarre fast car. This Rocket 900 Convertible is based on the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Cabrio. But, if the factory model sends 630 hp and 1,000 Nm to the rear wheels, the Brabus sample goes up to 900 hp and 1,500 Nm from its 6.3 liter V12. The engine has thus an increased capacity of 300 cc.
That should help the four-seat cabriolet to fly in 3.9 seconds to a speed of 100 km / h. The top speed is fixed at more than 350 km / h. Of course, a new cooling and exhaust system and a rewritten engine management system belong to the tuning package.
From the outset, the Rocket 900 Cabrio distinguishes itself from the factory version with a strong body kit. Brabus offers wheels in sizes from 18 to 22 inches. During the IAA 2017 Frankfurt this outrageous creation will be experiencing its public debut.
