The Premier League Champions are getting Mercedes-Benz cars as a reward for getting the title. It’s not some S- or G-Class as you might have imagined, but the eco Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive. The one gifting them with the EV shall be the Thai businessman and club chairman, the man with the imposible-to-pronounce-name, Mr. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
Coming strong from the second division to outpace Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea all all the Premier League stars asks for a reward. For winning the first ever title in the club’s history, 30 players and staff members, the Italian coach Claudio Ranieri included, shall receive the electric B, priced, in UK, at £32,670. This means a £1 million expense for the billionaire leading the club.
And that’s not all. The generous chairman has already promised his team a paid trip to Las Vegas, together with the £6.5 million bonus agreement that the staff and players will have to split between them. The underdogs of this season’s Barclays Premier League were placed with a 5000:1 chances to get the title. The Earth getting hit by an asteroid was more likely than that.
The B-Class Electric Drive is surely not one of the means of transportation that a soccer player would use. Therefore, the compact cars’ fate has been already sealed. The “Foxes” will surely not give up their sports fireballs for the family vehicles with a range of almost 200 km. And yet, charging all the players’ cars at the training facility or stadium would be really troublesome.
