The all-new Mercedes-AMG E 63 is a car you can decidedly look forward to with the uttermost excitment. Said to offer as much as 600 HP, top E-Class came has been snapped again by our spy photographers.
What this still heavily camouflaged prototype reveals for the first time is the precise detailing adorning the front end, wide, gaping grille and lower air-intake included. Otherwise, not much differentiates the new Mercedes-AMG E 63 from its regular sibling, seen at the Detroit motor show this January.
The 2016 Mercedes-AMG E 63 will be the first model to inherit AMG’s V8 in its highest tune, basically sharing the same 600 HP version of Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre expected to propell the hardcore Mercedes-AMG GT3 from 2017.
Until the hotter Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will see the daylight, the upcoming Mercedes-AMG E 63 will simply hold the title of the most potent car in AMG’s portofolio, upstaging both the C 63 and the AMG GT S in the process.
Said to be lighter and faster than its predecessor, the all-new E 63 will also mark the debut of Mercedes’ high-tech nine-speed gearbox in the AMG line-up. The sporty arm’s engineers will, of course, re-tune the transmission’s settings in order to suit the AMG philosophy.
The official debut is set for this Autumn with the order books said to open before the Summer is over.
