To begin with, Peking University was founded as the first state institution of higher education in China in the 19th century and it still remains a prestigious institution after more than a century of history.
24 students from the freshman classes are selected every year to receive the scholarship – 12 students on the basis of merit and the other 12 based on financial hardship. Up to date, over 400 students have taken part in this program that offers young students four-year scholarships.
