Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the all-new 2017 C-Class Cabrio, a full week before its official reveal at the Geneva motor show. Full gallery.
The car was spied virtually camouflage free by regular Mercedes prototypes spotter Walko. Everything is out in the open, with the rear-end now visible for the first time.
Obviously, the new 2017 Mercedes C-Class Cabrio relies heavily on the gorgeous all-new C-Class Coupe for styling inspiration with similar tail-light arrangement and boot design.
Latest spy video confirms that Mercedes won’t go the hard-top route, opting instead for a canvas roof to keep the weight down, contrary to BMW’s decision to equip its current 4-Series with a metal roof.
On the engine front, Mercedes C-Class Cabrio basically inherits the MRA platform of the current C-Class sedan, so four- and six- cylinder units lifted from the Coupe will be joined by the sweet bi-turbo V8 of AMG GT fame destined for the top-of-the-line Mercedes-AMG C 63 Cabrio variant – with 476-510 hp on tap.
Another interesting development concerns the delicious C 450 AMG. Following Mercedes’ decision to reconsider its AMG strategy and reposition all its AMG Line models as fully fledged Mercedes-AMG variants, the C 450 AMG will get the name swap we were already anticipating. Hence, the Mercedes-AMG C 43.
