Mercedes-Benz shined at NAIAS 2016. The company’s stand played host for the entire model range as well as the latest concepts showing the shape of things to come. WE BRING YOU THE LIVE TOUR.

Let’s start with the biggest star of all, the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, of course. The new business sedan not only sets higher standards for all its competitors, but also caters to anyone who wants to get an almost autonomously running computer, but also a saloon with a powerful design, matching performance and exceptionally luxurious interior.

Everything is fresh and forward thinking, from the lightweight construction and the record drag coefficient of 0.23, to the two large 12.3-inch displays dominating the dashboard. The pinnacle of the new E-Class range will be the all-new 2-liter diesel engine (code named OM654) which comes in two flavors: 110 kW / 150 hp for the E 200 d (not available right from the outset) and 143 kW / 195 hp for the E 220 d. The E-Class was not the only show stopper in Detroit. Mercedes’ all-new business sedan was joined by the facelifted SLC roadster which gets fresh design cues and an updated multimedia experience to match. Mercedes-Benz is bringing new additions to the model line-up, starting with the entry-level SLC 180 and going all the way up to the super sporty top-of-the-line Mercedes-AMG SLC 43, featuring the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission as standard. Last but not the least, Mercedes has celebrated 130 years since the inception of the automobile with a limited run Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabriolet called Edition 130. Only 130 cars will be made available to Mercedes’ fans, all honoring Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler, who invented the automobile in 1886, putting the bases of the modern car, as we’ve come to know it today. Among the distinguishing details endowing the Edition 130 badged Mercedes-AMG S 63 Cabrio with its expected exclusivity levels we find high-gloss “alubeam silver” special paint, Bordeaux red fabric top and matte black 20-inch 10-spoke wheels with high-sheen rim flanges.
