Mercedes presented a wide range of activity vans at the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf. Next to the already known Marco Polo models, the Germans unveiled two new special editions, a HymerCar based on the Sprinter and Vito in a Vansportcamper basis. Also on show in Hall 16: The Citan Tourer with roof tent.
Special model Marco Polo Edition
The special model features the exterior sports package, 17-inch alloy wheels and a metallic finish. Furthermore, the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission and the Intelligent Light System with adaptive headlights are standard. For entertainment: the multimedia system Audio 20 CD with Garmin Map Pilot navigation. For the best of comfort in the interior, Mercedes provides for the special model the hot air auxiliary heater with timer and temperature control as well as the air conditioning “Tempmatic”. For some extra Euros, there is the hot air auxiliary heater with remote control. The initial price of the Marco Polo Edition is 59,500 euros.
Special model Marco Polo Activity Edition
The Marco Polo Activity brings an edition variant with various extras: body color bumpers and ornaments, metallic paint, 17-inch alloy wheels and tinted glass. The information and communication system Audio 15, a 14.7-centimeter TFT display and an iPod exchange interface are also on board. The Becker Map Pilot expands the audio system into a full navigation device. Furthermore the special models come with a hot-air auxiliary heater including timer and temperature control, seat heating for driver and front passenger as well as the air conditioning “Tempmatic”. The Marco Polo Activity Edition is available for purchase from 44.625 Euro. From early 2017, customers can order isothermal mats for the front windows, fly and mosquito nets as well as a sleeping pad for the bed.
HymerCar Grand Canyon S and Vansportscamper
Another first for Mercedes is the HymerCar Grand Canyon S based on the Sprinter. The model is equipped among others with a cross bed (195 by 140 centimeters) a kitchenette and a full bathroom. As a compact motorhome Mercedes shows the Vansportscamper based on the Vito Tourer and made by specialist Terra Camper and Hartmann Tuning. With matt black sleeping roof and matt black aluminum wheels and body fittings from Hartmann, the Vansportscamper has a striking exterior design. New possibilities for the individual configuration of Vito – and V-Class – also come in the shape of the SCA-up roof of Mercedes and C. F. Maier. The forward opening SCA 152 is available for a total length of 5.14 meters. Another pop-up, there is the SCA 153. It can be opened to the rear and is available for Vito and V-Class.
Citan with Top Rooftent
Even the smallest member of the Mercedes-vans can be converted by simple means into a motorhome for up to two people. The roof tent top from specialist Tent Camping 3DOG is also offered. The retractable roof tent with cover including residential tent and integrated floor can be set up within minutes. Its height is only 25 to 30 centimeters.
