Mercedes-Benz shined at IAA 2015. The company’s stand is in fact a three-stories high building hosting the entire model range as well as the latest concepts showing the shape of things to come. WE BRING YOU THE LIVE TOUR.
Let’s start with the beginning, the ground floor. Here Mercedes is displaying the five world premieres on show, the ground-breaking Concept IAA, the majestic S-Class Cabrio, the diminutive smart cabrio plus the C-Class Coupe and its Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe alter-ego. Also on display are the AMG models and their motorsport counterparts as well as the collection of Mercedes original accessories including apparel, clothing and miniature collector models. Last but not the least, Mercedes is also showcasing the F 015 Luxury in Motion autonomous concept which made a huge splash at this year’s Detroit motor show.
Going forward we find ourselves at the second floor of the vast Mercedes-Benz IAA stand. What you can enjoy at this level is Mercedes’ latest C-Class Coupe in both its regular and AMG guise joined by the return to big cabriolets of yesterday, again the S-Class Cabrio. Touring the floor you’ll also admire the full range of Mercedes cabrio and roadster models.
The biggest surprise though has to be the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept showcasing what a potential GT bigger brother could look like in an alternate, digital future.
The third and last floor of the Mercedes IAA 2015 super structure is hosting the most models. Everything from the small but updated A-Class baby Benz to the S-Class and its Mercedes-Maybach super-luxury brother or the full range of Mercedes SUVs is ready to be experienced first hand by Benz fans. Two novelties are the GLC and the GLE Coupe, fresh to the market, joined by the full line-up of V-Class, E-Class, C-Class, B-Class and plug-in hybrids variants.
The cherry on top is the sleek Concept GLC Coupe, the gorgeous yellow prototype of Shanghai fame, hinting at next year’s hot new medium-sized SUV coupe based on the GLC. Technology hubs detailing the all-new 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox as well as the full collection of Intelligent Drive innovations complete the show.
