The Mercedes-Benz X-Class has become an inspiration for the camping enthusiasts. Mercedes-Benz Vans has worked its magic on the new pick-up and will exhibit the creation at the Caravan, Motor, Touristik show.

The pick-up now features a removable cabin built by bodybuilder Tischer and a conversion concept with integrated kitchen by VanEssa mobilcamping.

“It is important to us that our vehicles appeal to camper van bodybuilders as well, of course, to end customers. The X-Class fits seamlessly into our established product range. We are proud to introduce first camper van solution approaches together with Tischer and VanEssa at the CMT, just two months after the vehicle’s launch”, says Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.

It is now easy to stop and stay wherever you may wish: by the sea, overlooking the mountains or simply by the side of the road when you are tired, as the X-Class camper van gives full freedom.  Almost 38,000 new vehicles with the camping purpose were registered across Germany, from January to October 2017, which accounts for 5,000 more than the same period of 2016.

Customers take their homes on wheels for trips to remote areas, far from civilization and off the beaten track. From the Scottish Highlands to remote passes through Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, to sunrises at the Plage Blanche in Morocco: camping has become an adventure and a chance to enjoy nature to the fullest.

Campers don’t need much for the trip. Minimum facilities and off-road capabilities is all they are asking from their vehicle. The X-Class offers even more: premium amenities and the reliable 4Matic all-wheel drive, assistance systems borrowed from the luxury segment, like the Active Brake Assist, the Lane Keeping and the Traffic Sign Assist, are all in one vehicle.

Even when it comes to camping, the drivers can choose between three equipment lines: PURE, PROGRESSIVE and POWER.

The vehicle once converted can provide a kitchen with a 3-burner gas stove and three seats. The seats can be transformed into a second bed with minimum effort. A large fold-away wash basin and a swiveling toilet unit, integrated bathroom with built-in shower make the adventure safe and comfy.
